If you were watching the Academy Awards earlier this month—maybe you were pulling for The Shape of Water because of its neat depiction of an old-school Cadillac dealership—you might have noticed that Cadillac was a major presence during the commercial breaks. Arguably, the biggest impression was struck by the 2019 Cadillac XT4, which was teased for the first time ahead of its debut in New York this April.
“Having been featured in more than 10,000 films and television shows, Cadillac has always played a significant role in the arts,” said Cadillac Director of Marketing Renée Rauchut. “The [Academy Awards are] a natural fit for the brand and the perfect stage to reveal our exhilarating new creative, including a preview of the first-ever Cadillac XT4 and a look at our industry-leading Super Cruise™ technology. We’re excited to show the world what the future holds for Cadillac.”
The commercial—scored by Bruno Mars’ hit song “Uptown Funk”—lingers lovingly over the curves and angles of the XT5 crossover. Set to debut in New York and arrive at dealerships later this fall, the XT4 will slot beneath the popular XT5 crossover and furthers the brand’s push to pad out its already strong lineup with high-fashion and high-function utility vehicles.
The proper debut of the Cadillac XT4 is just around the corner, so keep your eyes on this space to get all the details after it bows in the Big Apple. Then, later this year, be sure to stop into DeVoe Cadillac to get your very own 2019 Cadillac XT4. Until then, you can check out Cadillac’s award-show commercial for the XT4 below:
