The 2019 Cadillac XT4 will be arriving at DeVoe Cadillac very soon, but in the meantime, you may want to whet your appetite on some delicious details about its powerful engine.
Efficiency & Power
Powered by an all-new 2.0-liter Turbo engine, the new XT4 balances efficiency and power expertly. The XT4’s turbo engine is SAE-certified at 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and it’s expected to deliver 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway when equipped with front-wheel drive.
“The advantage of turbocharging is power when you need it and efficiency when you don’t,” said Kris Keary, 2.0L turbo assistant chief engineer. “In the XT4, it translates as confident performance in all scenarios.”
This mighty engine’s double-overhead-camp tripower valvetrain offers three distinct operating modes that will focus on max performance, max efficiency, or some combination of both. Aiding in terms of efficiency is Active Fuel Management, which will activate cylinders when they are not in use. Other technologies that make the new Cadillac 2.0-liter Turbo a standout include Active Thermal Management and stop/start technology, which save on fuel costs and boost performance capabilities.
