Light bodies are in—heavy ones are on their way out, and the 2016 Cadillac CT6 will be the next fashion victim. Automobile magazine has confirmed Cadillac’s latest flagship—based on the General Motors Omega platform—will have an aluminum body.
This aluminum-body Cadillac CT6 will be larger than the CTS but around the same weight category—less than 4,000 lbs. It will also be the first model to offer a four/six/eight cylinder engine option variety from the new series to compete with Mercedes and BMW models while remaining affordable.
2016 Cadillac CT6 premiere later in the year, so it’s not quite ready to appear in Detroit, but hopefully we’ll get indication if the confirmed CT6 V-Sport will feature a turbocharged heart.
It has yet to be determined what the final design will actually resemble, and what approach it will take (we at DeVoe Cadillac are hoping it will be dynamic and luxurious), but the upcoming CT6 is bound to make an impression.
