These days, automakers are unveiling a more extensive lineup of crossover SUVs in order to stay competitive with current trends, and Cadillac is no exception to this rule. The Cadillac XT4 crossover will be one of the first nameplates to come out of this new development, and the disguised Cadillac XT4 was recently spotted doing a test drive in camo, giving us our first glimpse of the brand-new ride.
The Cadillac XT4 will be available for the 2019 model year. Positioned beneath the recent Cadillac XT5 in the lineup, the new crossover will offer a standard turbocharged engine as well as an eight- or nine-speed transmission. The 2019 Cadillac XT4 will also be offered in a plug-in hybrid powertrain variant. Experts predict the crossover will be available somewhere in the $30,000 range, and that the standard engine will produce anywhere between 250 and 280 hp.
The Cadillac XT4 crossover won’t be the last nameplate for Cadillac to roll out in the new direction they’re taking. Another, smaller crossover is planned under the name of the XT3, and after that, Cadillac will likely be looking to fill the space between the XT5 and Escalade with two more models.
