Stop Ignoring Your Check Engine Light
We all know the feeling — you’re driving down the road when all of a sudden, the check engine light flashes on. If you’re anything like us, a sinking feeling will come over you as you try to block the light from your view with the help of the steering wheel, hoping it will turn off without you having to take a trip down to the local car service center.
Well we want to encourage you to stop ignoring that check engine light. No matter how long you ignore it, the check engine light means that something is wrong with your car, and the longer you put off the repair, the more it could cost you in the long run. In fact, according to Steve Mazor, the Auto Club of South California’s chief automotive engineer, in an article on Edmunds.com, many people will even put a piece of black tape over the light so that they can’t see it. However, Mazor goes on, this ignorance could lead to a more costly repair somewhere down the road.
The service center at DeVoe Cadillac has the staff and technology to diagnose your car and get it running like new. So if you drive one of the many cars out there with the check engine light on, swing by DeVoe Cadillac and let one of our certified technicians help you.
